2016 Expedition Season is nearly here!!

By Anne Mead

Excitement is building as we wait for our Expeditioners from the coastline of North Carolina to the mountains of Colorado. This past week we wrapped up an informative and exhaustive training session for our expedition leaders here at Base Camp on the Preserve. We welcomed back return leaders and got to know new friends. We shared stories and experiences, best practices and worst-case scenarios. Then, our ten leaders sheared off into their four respective groups – Outer Banks, Blue Ridge, Western, and Trailblazers – to map out course logistics and run recon on new routes as they prepare to receive their expeditioners in the very near future. If you would like to read more about our leaders check out their bios here: http://www.greenriverpreserve.org/expeditions/meet-our-staff
We are thrilled to announce that the majority of expeditions this summer are at capacity – the word is out! On Sunday, we begin our first Outer Banks and Blue Ridge Expeditions of the summer. The following week, our Trailblazers arrive in Cedar Mountain, NC, and our Western Expedition begins in Albuquerque, NM. Did we mention that we are excited? In the coming days and weeks we hope that you will follow along here to read about their collective adventures. Stay tuned right here for photos, videos and stories
