Both OBX and BRX are out on their extended overnight trips. OBX is on day three, moving from Shackleford Island to Cape Lookout today. The group plans to have a layover day tomorrow and tour the lighthouse, museum, and swim at the tip of the island. Everyone is doing well, is happy, and is staying sunburn free (at this point!). A couple of highlights include seeing dolphins super close up, checking out the “enchanted” Forrest on Shackelford with an amazing diversity of spiders, and glassy and clear water on the beach side for great body surfing. BRX is also on day 3 of their trip in Pisgah National Forest. The group hiked along the Cat Gap Loop Trail yesterday and made it to John’s Rock (a high point) this morning. Thankfully, they have been missed by all the rain we are getting at base camp (3.5 inches last night!). Everything is going really well and the group is doing phenomenally! Stayed tuned for more updates.
