OBX 1 Update

By Sandy Schenck

The OBX crew began their paddle along Shackleford Island and the Core Banks over the weekend. They first arrived at Whale Creek, then paddled the next day to Horsepen. Shackleford Island is famous for its wild ponies. The next morning they arose at 4:30AM for a sunrise paddle to the Cape Lookout Lighthouse. At the Lighthouse, they spent some time with NC Maritime Museum biologist, Keith Rittmaster, enjoying the ecology of the sound and sea.
