Unbargaining Act of Service Day

Ice Storm Clean Up Day at the Green River Preserve
March 24th – 28th
9am – 5 pm Daily

In February, the Green River Preserve experienced some severe winter weather. An ice storm snapped a number of trees around camp. We have been working hard to clean up the debris but we still need your help! Join us in clearing fallen trees from around base camp and all of the hiking trails. Bring your work gloves and a smile!

Please contact Pam Ritchie, Summer Program Coordinator at 828-698-8828 or pam@greenriverpreserve.org if you are interested in offering a helping hand. Provide the times and dates that you are available for service.

Meals will be offered during your time of service. Overnight accommodations are available for people planning on staying more than a day. You must respond no later than March 22nd 2010.

Love. Be kind. Do at least one act of unbargaining service each day. Be helpful. Do your share of the work. Be joyful. Seek the joy of being alive.icedamage_sm

Ice Hits GRP

On February 5th, an ice storm hit the GRP. Some buildings were damaged by falling trees weighted down by the ice, but luckily the damage was not too serious. On the other hand it will take some time and hard work to remove the trees from base camp and the trails. This really has been a winter for the record books. Here are a few photos.

More Snow at GRP

Just about as soon as the snow from the December storm melted, another weather system dumped more this past Friday and Saturday. Missy and Sandy ventured out and took some photos around the Uncle’s Creek area. We’ve posted them in our Facebook photo album and also in the GRP album.
