Outer Banks Expeditions

Outer Banks Expeditions

Participants in Green River Outer Banks Expeditions are introduced to some of the most beautiful coastal areas of North Carolina. Traveling aboard solo touring kayaks, expeditioners explore some of the inland seas and legendary islands of the Outer Banks including Core and Bogue Sounds, and Shackleford. Based on the philosophy of the Green River Preserve, these expeditions are designed to further stimulate the development of outdoor skills, teamwork, and self-understanding.

Each expedition is a 14-day life-changing experience that heightens confidence, improves leadership awareness, and broadens skills in wilderness living, backpacking and kayaking. Expeditioners will focus on exploring the natural wonders of these unique areas by hiking and camping on the islands of the Outer Banks. Kayaks will be used as a primary vehicle for exploration but not the primary focus of each expedition. No prior kayaking experience is required.
