Blue Ridge Expedition
Blue Ridge Expeditions began in 1991 and are the flagship expeditions of The Green River Preserve. These Expeditions are designed to build upon the experience of The Green River Preserve base camp and to further stimulate the development of outdoor skills, teamwork, and self-understanding.

Each expedition is a life-changing experience that heightens confidence, improves leadership awareness, and broadens skills in low impact camping, backpacking and canoeing. Adventure and wilderness living encourages self-examination of character and personal responsibility. Expeditioners hike, canoe, and camp in some of the most beautiful areas in the Appalachian Mountains of Western North Carolina.
This summer we are offering two 14 day programs and one extended 18 day expedition. The 18 day program offers an opportunity for a lengthier backpacking trip and to further develop their primative living skills at the Reasonover base camp.
