Hi, I'm Liz!

Liz Stabenow is a science teacher at The Expedition School in Hillsborough, NC. She spends her summers at two rivers – at the Eno River teaching at a science and nature camp called iWalk the Eno which immerses kids in outdoor adventures, and then to the Green River Preserve to splash in waterfalls and search for salamanders. At home, she spends time with her two kids (Ella, a GRP alumni & Owen, a happy GRP camper), husband Jola, two dogs, two cats, a dozen chickens, turtle, and dragon. For fun, she spends her time outside hanging in a hammock, canoeing or kayaking, hiking, or taking photos- mostly of fungi. Her favorite color is orange, her favorite food is Thai (& chocolate), and her favorite trail is the Mountains to Sea Trail. It is her strongly held belief that summer camp is one of the best inventions in the history of humanity.
