FAQs

What’s Special About a Small Summer Camp?

Campers have always said they feel like they’re part of a family at Green River Preserve. They feel cared for and respected. They fit in. That’s pretty special. The Green River Preserve Board made a conscious decision to keep the non-profit summer camp small with a total enrollment per session of no more than 112 campers.

Is Green River Preserve ACA Accredited?

Green River Preserve is accredited by the American Camping Association (ACA) in compliance with its guidelines regarding policies, procedures, and practices for its member camps.

Is Green River Preserve an academic camp and is it only for straight a-type students?

Learning at Green River Preserve is hands-on, fun, and spontaneous. Every day campers experience a shared sense of wonder and adventure in nature’s classroom. Campers do not need to be labeled gifted or have top grades to apply. They do, however, need a good teacher reference and an eagerness to learn more about nature.

IS GRP a Leave No Trace Partner?

Green River Preserve is currently one of fewer than 100 non-profit partners of Leave No Trace, the foremost organization dedicated to promoting and inspiring responsible outdoor recreation through education, research and partnerships.
