Sons & Daughters Weekend
Come experience the magic of GRP with your child!
Register for Sons & Daughters Weekend
Each summer, hundreds of parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles visit us to drop off a camper. Often, they ask if they can stay, too! This year, we can finally say “yes!”
GRP is hosting a Sons & Daughters weekend Friday, May 4th through Sunday, May 6th, 2018, so Dads can join sons, and Moms can join daughters, at GRP and experience camp together. Explore the Preserve on Mentor Hikes with our Senior Mentors and trained naturalists. Laugh, learn, and challenge yourselves with archery, canoeing, and other camp activities. Plunge into GRP traditions, from sacred songs to Ortman and Scrappy. Unplug, slow down, and play in the woods.
Separated by gender for lodging, hikes, and activities, this weekend combines the same-gender bonding of a traditional camp with the joyful community of our coed program. Once we return from our separate adventures, we will join together as a coed community in the lodge for meals, enjoy Free Time together, and share songs and stories in the evening.
We designed this weekend for adults and campers of all stripes. It’s the perfect opportunity for returning campers to show Mom or Dad their summer home, and it’s also an easy way for younger siblings and first-time campers to experience GRP with family right there with them. Future campers can meet our directors and staff, learn their way around camp, and feel right at home when they decide to return for a summer session.
Sons & Daughters Weekend aims to create a classic GRP camp experience which is all about inclusivity and respect. We hope to have aunts and nieces, grandfathers and grandsons, as well as fathers with sons and mothers with daughters. If you have a unique family situation or any questions, please let us know.
To enroll, please fill out the registration form. Tickets are $450 for an adult + child pair and $200 for additional children. Registration is open for children who are five years and older. Once you fill out the registration form, Catherine will contact you within three business days to confirm registration.
We are thrilled to invite you to enjoy GRP with us, for what will be a special weekend filled with connection, joy, and memories. We hope to see you in May!

Stay tuned! We will send you a detailed schedule prior to your arrival at camp. Our goal is to recreate a regular camp day at GRP as best as we can.
How do I get to camp?
We are unplugged at camp! GPS and cell service is nonexistent on the Preserve, so please use the driving directions found on the bottom of our home page or (click here).
Can I stay at camp?
Yes! Everyone will be sleeping in cabins and lodging is included in your ticket price.
Can I share a cabin with friends?
There is a place on the registration form to request to share a cabin with friends. Please keep in mind that you are renting BEDS, not cabins. We cannot guarantee that all cabin requests will be fulfilled, but we will do our best!
Can I bring my dog?
While we are beyond excited to see so many friends of GRP gathered together for the weekend, please leave your pets, worries, work and electronics behind. Part of our mission is to disconnect from the rest of the world and reconnect with nature and we hope that we can all support this goal together.
What should I bring?
We suggest packing the following items PER PERSON:
Assortment of clothing, good for layering
Warm sweater or jacket

Camping chair (if desired)
