Lauren joins us as Programs Director, returning after some time away since her start at GRP as a counselor in the summer of 2016.

While obtaining her degree in Biology with a specialization in Behavior from Boston University, Lauren completed various internships and seasonal work in zoos & aquariums throughout the country. After a summer at GRP ignited her passion for working more closely with children, she pivoted to environmental education, beginning as an instructor naturalist at an outdoor school in Minnesota. While in Minnesota, she expanded her skills by taking on co-ownership of a small sustainable farm and completing training to support children and their families in equine (and other animal)-assisted mental health coaching programs. She re-entered the camp world in 2022 and is excited to be back where it all began!

Lauren and her fiancé enjoy the company of their German shorthaired pointer pup, Balin, who is trained to bikejor. They’re looking forward to hitting the trails! In addition to spending time outdoors, Lauren is a foodie, loves games of all kinds - including Dungeons & Dragons, plays the cello, and in recent years has returned to her childhood love of reading, typically biographies and fantasy.
